Host an event

Want to contribute to GEW Basel? Host an event during the week of November 17 to 23, 2025.

Hosting an event – What to know

We welcome all kinds of events: from hands-on workshops and panel discussions to site visits and creative networking sessions.

Here are the main things to know:

  • Your event, your lead
As an event host, you are fully in charge of your own session – content, location, logistics, and registration. We can help, of course.

  • Timing
Events should take place during Global Entrepreneurship Week, between November 17 and 23, 2025, either in the Basel region or online.
New this year: We invite hosts to align their event with the GEW Grid – a simple daily rhythm to help attendees navigate the week. Learn more about the Grid.

  • Audience
Events can be open to the public, invite-only, or tailored to a specific group. You decide who it’s for.

  • Alignment with GEW values
Your event should relate to entrepreneurship, innovation, creativity, or skills that support founders. We especially welcome themes linked to sustainability, inclusion, or lifelong learning.

  • Visibility
Once your event is confirmed, we’ll feature it on the official GEW Basel program.
Confirmed events will start appearing in our program from September onward,

FAQ

FAQ Event organizers

  • Can I charge fees for my event?
Most events are free to ensure accessibility for all. However, you are welcome to charge participants a fee if needed.
  • What role does GEW Basel play?
We will promote the details of your event and post it on LinkedIn as part of GEW's communications campaign. At the start of your event, we will ask for a 3-minute slot for a member of the organising committee to introduce GEW Basel and the different organisers and ways to support the week. For face-to-face events, we will bring a beach flag to place at the entrance. For selected events, a videographer will be present to capture footage and interviews with participants to create a compelling video presentation of GEW 2024.
  • Where can I host my event?
You can host your event online, in person, or a mix of both. If you need help finding a venue, we can assist you. If your event is online, please make sure to provide the platform link to all participants.
  • Why make my event a part of GEW Basel?
By making your event a part of GEW Basel, you gain exposure to a wide audience of entrepreneurs and supporters in the Basel region. It's an opportunity to share your expertise and learnings, connect with like-minded individuals, and be a part of a global movement celebrating entrepreneurship. We help promote your event through our communication channels, including LinkedIn. Plus, as a GEW Basel event organizer, you'll be invited to our pre-week get-together. Join us and make your mark on the entrepreneurial scene in Basel!
  • Do participants need to register, and where?
GEW Basel doesn't handle event registration; we only publish your event details and your registration link. Please set up a registration process to manage the number of participants and send updates. A simple Google form can do the job if you don't want to use the usual online platforms! Remember, if you collect personal data, it can only be used for event-related communications unless you obtain opt-in consent for marketing purposes.
  • Are there conditions to fullfill as event organiser?
Your event must take place between Monday, November 18, and Sunday, November 24, 2024. It should be relevant to entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs in the Basel region. We reserve the right not to publish your event as part of GEW if deemed necessary (though we haven't thought of a possible scenario, but just in case).
  • When during the week should I plan my event?
You can decide on the timing of your event yourself. However, we can support you in finding an optimal slot that doesn't overlap with similar events.
  • Who organizes my event? Does GEW Organizing Team help?
The events must be organized by the host, who choses time and location during the GEW Week and funds the event. GEW Team is not involved in the organization of any of the GEW events, while it offers visibility of each events on the official website of the GEW.
  • Can I promote my personal activity during GEW?
GEW scope is not intended to be a marketing platform for each individual's business activities, but to give exposure to a wide audience of entrepreneurs and supporters in the Basel region. It's an opportunity to share your expertise and learnings, connect with like-minded individuals, and be a part of a global movement celebrating entrepreneurship. Each event should be conceived with this objective and tailored to this type of audience.
  • How do I cancel a published event?
In case you cannot organize your event due to operational or other reasons after it is published, please contact all participants who already signed up and contact GEW organizing team to remove the event from the advertisements.
