Host an event

Want to contribute to GEW Basel? Host an event during the week of November 17 to 23, 2025.

Hosting an event – What to know

We welcome all kinds of events: from hands-on workshops and panel discussions to site visits and creative networking sessions.

Here are the main things to know:

  • Your event, your lead
As an event host, you are fully in charge of your own session – content, location, logistics, and registration. We can help, of course.

  • Timing
Events should take place during Global Entrepreneurship Week, between November 17 and 23, 2025, either in the Basel region or online.
New this year: We invite hosts to align their event with the GEW Grid – a simple daily rhythm to help attendees navigate the week. Learn more about the Grid.

  • Audience
Events can be open to the public, invite-only, or tailored to a specific group. You decide who it’s for.

  • Alignment with GEW values
Your event should relate to entrepreneurship, innovation, creativity, or skills that support founders. We especially welcome themes linked to sustainability, inclusion, or lifelong learning.

  • Visibility
Once your event is confirmed, we’ll feature it on the official GEW Basel program.
Confirmed events will start appearing in our program from September onward,

Submit your event (idea)!

If you have questions, take a look at our FAQ  below - we regularly update it as new queries come in.

When you’re ready, please submit your idea(s) using the form.

It’s easier for us to manage if all information and comments are sent through the form but, of course, you can also reach out to us by email.

The Grid

During Global Entrepreneurship Week in Basel, we’re introducing a shared daily rhythm – the GEW Grid – to help local founders, freelancers, and startup teams get the most out of the week.

Each day is structured with themed time slots for practical inputs, in-depth learning, informal networking, and community exchange. This structure helps participants to know what to expect and how to engage.

We encourage you to align your session with this format – but it’s not mandatory.

Kickstart Café

  • 08:30–09:30

  • Roundtable discussions over coffee with bite-sized, practical input and sharing among participants

Toolbox Session

  • 10:00–12:00

Brown bag lunch

  • 12:00–13:30

Afternoon Deep Dive

  • Second slot for expert sessions or panels

  • In-depth knowledge sharing or give-back from experienced founders
